I played in the 1990s. Excellent experience. With the proliferation of correspondence websites (turn-based, online chess, or whatever you want to call it) in the past ten years, however, I've rarely been tempted to return.
Correspondance Chess USCF
I've played a lot of correspondence chess with USCF and Correspondence Chess League Of America.I have one "post card style" game left with CCLA
and it will be my last. Several reasons why I like correspondence style chess on line better. Less record keeping, its faster, and a big thing for me; no chance of a clerical error. For example on a post card you might send Bd2 and you meant Bg2.If it's a legal move it stands. I've lost games doing that.
CCLA also has on line chess but I like Chess.com 's format better.
Hope this has been helpful.
I was wondering if anyone had done a correspondance chess match through the USCF and if so what were the experienes and was it worth it?
