I didn't really know the guy but only heard good things from others.
I hope he rests in peace, if only electronically. May he continue OTB chess into perpetuity.

dang man, hope he enjoys his life. really want him to know that its just elo and shouldnt quit chess because of it. This specific concept of chess is what annoys me, many people gain elo and assume thats all they need to achieve for chess even tho the concept of chess is just to have fun and strategize. Hope croton comes back but until then, hope he is ok. (Hopefully he doesnt quit chess entirely and decides to play OTB chess)

A large part is he actually realized he was doing it for the elo and not to play chess. I completely agree with you though!
