In this thread, post your original openings, or succinct ideas and thoughts about pre-middle game chess, that you're developing out of your own curiosity, imagination or stylistic distinctiveness. The reason for publishing here is to share with others in a format that beginners can pick up and carry forward as they forge their chess careers. We're looking to broaden the horizons and possibilities of the chess world into hitherto inconceivable directions to keep the sport vibrant and coruscant into the unforseeable future.

I will kick off this series with a classic opening I'm developing called "Knights Only".

The objective of this opening is to try to occupy the center while fighting for control of your mind.

It borrows heavily from a misconstruation of principles from the 1970's Kung Fu TV Series, and New Age meditation.

Zig-Zagwang

The purpose of the Zig-Zagwang opening is to array the pawns in a zig-zag configuration in order to create opportunities for each player to marvel at the dazzling impractical geometrical arrangement of the pawns.  In this configuration there are a number of options open to both white and black and it is considered an open-closed or "like, whatever" position.

What Next?

The purpose of the What Next? opening is for each side to do something highly unusual, and somewhat specious, essentially disregarding the moves of the other side to achieve a distinctly "What next?" vibe for the game and decide how to proceed from there.
Alation

I hereby crown you the King of Useless Threads. How do you feel?

Four Castles

The Four Castle's opening illustrates the concept of friendship, community and co-existence. The purpose of this opening is to learn to co-exist, share space and even form communal alliances on common ground and to tear down the borders that normally seperate us.

The Tricky Bishop

The goal of the Tricky Bishop opening is for the white bishop to non-chalantly wait until the time is right to capture black's queen, by appearing disinterested in black's pointless self-destructive moves, while seeming more interested in acting out a game of pong, and striking when the time is right.

Dance of the Kings

The purpose of the Dance of the Kings is opening to express joie de vivre... to covort around the board and celebrate the old maxim "It's good to be king", and to realize that when the battle is over and before it has begun essentially opposing kings have more in common than seperates them.
