I was looking up something on the internet the other day and wondered, does the curent World Champion Grand Master affect the lines played by us little people?  After going through the years on the computer and rummiging through the pile of Google hits I found that by a percentage, does the average shift in play from quite or hard lines. By only using a small look at national turnments, over a 30% shift.  I would like to hear everybodys opinion on this please.

What "years on the computer" are you referring to and what source(s)? It would also help if you rephrased the other italicized phrase into legible english.

To answer your question, I suppose the little people who own the latest DBs, and/or Informants and/or volumes of NIC are probably influenced by Anand's opening play more so than the other little people who don't take the game quite so seriously.

First there is a mistake by your assumption that I was talking about people that don't take the game "quite so seriously."  Actualy I was talking about ranking, I was talking about people that are 1400 and lower I probly should have specifyed this fact.  Thank you for your grammer lesson.  Also I am not nessisarly making a point but trying to fined out if anybody else noticed the trend.  I don't even know about all the info you refferanced to but I can still fined things out on the internet.  Still, since I don't know about all the material you used in your comment, I would have to say that if somebody did they are taking the game very seriously even thoe they are not high ranking.

You find things on google.  You get fined if there is a monetary penalty for spelling mistakes.

I would say not significantly, for example last year topalov & anand played nearly every game for the world championship as queens pawn opening. I don't see less king pawn openings.
