Daily vs Timed/Rapid?

Which is generally better to learn? Too often I feel like I lose track of what I was trying to accomplish with my position from one day to the next in Daily games, and it seems like faster-paced chess is generally more popular. Do you all find that timed games generally help you learn and improve better than dailies?

It really depends on your approach to the game. If you are looking to improve, daily correspondence offers you the chance to really study positions, check the databases and learn something about openings.

On the other hand, if you play a lot of games, getting your head back into the position can be difficult.

I usually have a few daily games going at the same time so every time I move to a new game I go back a few places to see what my plan was. Sometimes I still can't remember.cry.png cry.png

Ohh same lol! I try to usually keep three going at a time, but I'm starting to wonder if my play is suffering for it.

The most I've had on the go at the same time with tournaments is 25 but I think that is too many for me.

If you really want to improve, play Daily.  Blitz is more for entertainment than practice.  Timed slow games can be good too.

I get impatient waiting for moves in dailies, so would the 30 or 45 minute options work as far as slow timed games?
