first day playing chess games with people having at least seen a few videos for the free membership

1st game made a horrible blunder with my queen (but i blame my fat fingers for that one)
2nd game played black and was just overwhelmed
3rd game was a little better but when human opponent doesnt behave like the level 2 computer opponent i'm soon
over my head
4th game was quickly fool's mated even though i thought i saw it coming
5th game was much better against same opponent who fool mated me and i might have even been winning at one point

had a blast though and will take my 400 rating into the trenches tomorrow

i'm considering upgrading my account to have more access to the training and video content but just watching you tube videos for beginners has been more than enough to digest for now

is not that something? to have such memories from your beginning on this so cool adventure to play chess and become better at it. I envy you a little bit, because you had the discipline to do that. pretty much the rest of us we are too lazy to do that lol

Recommend learning basic tactical patterns and getting a book for beginners to help improvement which outlines basic principles for u.

You're giving advice to a post from February 2017... but the original poster has now played over 200 rapid games and has a rating over 1200... so your advice worked!
