what time zone are you in, perhaps it doesnt have alot of members here, so your requests are delayed ?
maybe it has to do with the time per move ?
the rating range you choose ?
i also tend to think many players prefer to give an open game request, than fight with others for the open seks they want, or have to wait for one to materialize.....i have been bothered by both of those in the same ten minutes....
Here you can see an official statistics about number of player on this website. It says Chess.com has 7+ million members but only 336 000 games in progress. I know many people play dozens of games, so 2 games per capita ought to be a plausible assesment. Therefore, there would be only around 170 000 active Online players, although I believe there to be less such members. If we add up live-only players (that are present in significantly smaller number) we could roughly assume, there is at most cca. 250 000 active players on this website (personally I believe this is still an excessive assumption - I would say around 100 000), which is more than enough to find a game. Perhaps you are trying to play chess960 games, for which players are undoubtedly rare.
Actually Chess.com says there is 314560 Online players.

Whenever I seek an online game, it takes very long to be joined.It means chess.com has fewer members than other sites.
