Perhaps not, but that's almost an aside to the point I was making (or trying to make). It should be obvious to you (the mover) why the subtler move is best before you turn your nose up at something that is more transparent. I have an occasional tendency to get 'clever' (i.e. stupid) and pass up solid gains in favour of hair-brained fantasies.
Sorry, I was really just venting. 
"If the reason to play something other than the obvious move isn't at least as obvious to you as the reason for playing the obvious move, then PLAY THE OBVIOUS MOVE!!!"
