Though I only have guest privilages as of this moment.  Since I couldn't send a PGN to myself I had to copy it by hand.  Since ICC is inflated by about 150 points it's like I defeated a class A.  I even included a screenshot.  I need to study the English better so I'm not thrown off after b3 at that point, though it didn't really look right to me even though it was totally sound.

Game was 15 minutes per side:

Congrats.  That's an interesting game, I don't see too many english openings.

Nice! Since I joined ICC I've beaten a GM and an IM. It's a pretty good feeling.

My only claim to fame is I lost to an NM in a simul, but I made him take 30 moves to beat me.  I have skills.

No offense taken, I was being sarcastic. Laughing

For you it was probably the most important day in your life, but for the NM, it was only Tuesday! :D

Anyway, thanks for the congrats all, I still have plenty of room for improvement.  I need to work more on general opening principles and calcuation.  I didn't like Be7 as it looked too passive but Bc5 lines I heard were dubious.  Besides, the knight has b6 so a bishop can't fall back there if needed.

Congratulations on your victory.

Remember, people go online to play casual chess. Many players go there and play after having a drink (or several), or while sleep deprived, the dog is barking, or whatever.

It's great to claim scalps, but the games are casual. In terms of real victories over strong opponents, over-the-board encounters are the only ones where you can be sure the conditions are fair.
