Was the thread discussing the recent disqualification case just deleted? In that case, why?

probably because of the 'no naming and shaming' rules.

The guys reputation has taken a pretty big blow, and on the off chance its not true (probably is), itd be pretty harsh to completely destroy hes reputation.

Chess com probs wants to give gim the benefit of the doubt.

Well that's pretty unfounded by whatever forum mod decided to do that. If you can't discuss actual chess news, then what's the point of it being reported in the first place? I'd like to know two things:

1. Which mod made that rather bad decision.

2. What Eric thinks about removing entire news topics.

Agreed, it all sounds like North Korea to me.

Because the person in question is still a member on this site and while the news article spoke of what occurred in an otb game it has led to quite a few cheat accusations appearing on this site.

Thats a pretty extreme comparison. If it was proved (ex/ they did check his phone and found the position loaded up), then theyd probably be alright with it. At the moment its just speculation, at the expense of the player.
