DGT board with Fritz. Announce moves issue

Greetings,

I have a DGT board connected to a pc running Fritz 12. When announce moves is turned on, it periodically stops working. I verify that the option is still selected, verify my PC's audio, and confirm the DGT board is communicating. According to my Google search, others have had this issue, though I have not identified a fix. Since Fritz ships with the DGT board, and the announce moves feature (allowing complete focus on the board and not the computer screen) is a key feature of the product, I would assume that this issue has been resolved. I have checked the FEN workaround in the Rabbit driver config screen to no avail.  Can someone please let me know if this is resolved in a newer version of Fritz or if a work around exists?

The only way that I can resolve it is to close out of Fritz and go back into it.

So do you regret paying approximately 2 million dollars for a chess board yet?

Not at all. I paid $250 and built a Raspberry Pi clock running a stock fish engine. That works great, however I am just trying to configure a better interface with a pcm for detailed analysis and training purposes.

I have the same problem with the announcement of moves when I play online on ICC via Dasher. Maybe the problem is in the Rabbit DLL rather than in Fritz or Dasher.

Strangly enough there have been no software updates for years now.
