I have a few questions.

First, after how long each clock released or is it random?

Do we know the next model yet or maybe have some rumors about it , when roughly do we expect the next model ?

Just get the DGT 3000. It's fide approved and quite simply the best clock on the market. DGT provides equipment for all the major tournaments i.e boards, clocks and chess pieces. The DGT 3000 came out in 2014.

On a side note, even the older models will serve you well, like the XL and the 2010. They all do the same thing.

Last model was released in 2014 , when to expect the next model ?

I'm not sure when a new one will appear.  I don't think there's a market out there to compel a company to put out new clocks just for the sake of having a new model out.  I guess that has something to do with the fact that, aside from top level FIDE matches with their elaborate time controls, most clocks can do most time controls.  Even my comparatively ancient Chronos clock can manage all the time controls I'm likely to need.  But DGT seems to be putting out clocks when they see a niche to be filled.  Last year, they brought out the 1001 and 1002, two simple, cheap clocks that I see doing well.  On the other end of the spectrum, they brought out the DGT Pi, a DGT 3000 with attached chess computer which looks interesting if you've spent the money on a DGT board.  So I'm not sure when the DGT 3000's replacement will come out and I'm not sure it really matters so much.  I just can't see a new clock coming out with a feature that will really make it that different from all the other clocks out there.

DGT 1001 and 2 Is not FIDE clocks

ESP-918

Well , they can come up with numerous other technologies such as a bigger screen, COLOUR screen, curve glass screen, super AMOLED etc.....

Moriarty_697

Yup. Just pointing out that they are putting out new things when they see a market for them.  Is there a market for a brand new fide clock that will do just what the current clock is doing? I have my doubts.  As for all the other things you mention, I agree they could do that, but what would be the point?  How many times have you looked at a chess clock and really thought 'gee, I wish this was high resolution and in colour'? I look at a clock and think 'crap! How did I let time slip away like that again!'  I can do that just as well in black and white and in colour.

ESP-918

Once we all were thinking exactly as you are now about our phones, why do I I need a colour

, Internet , camera? I just need a phone to make calls that's all I need etc... and look where we are now?

ESP-918

To have a demand you need to produce something not the way around

ESP-918

Maybank a cost and the mass which will buy the clocks that's a different story, still mostly the cost but if they can reduce the cost , demand will increase

I agree wholeheartedly about the phone thing.  It is amazing how they've evolved into pocket computers.  I just think that there really isn't a case when it comes to chess clocks because, at heart, their purpose remains the same as it has always been.  The other thing that limits this is that the market for chess clocks is a whole lot smaller than the market for smartphones.  Clocks are still niche products for a niche market.  Is there any economic sense in adding more fancy, and costly technology to something with a pretty simple purpose?

ESP-918

Indeed , all about economics, government and unwillingness to increase chess culture in our society for one or another reason. Clock is just a needle in a haystack
