Difficult player

I am not sure where to ask this so I am posting this here...I am playing a standard game with another player and am one move from checkmate...It is apparent the other player is not happy I won the game because he has been dragging the game out for almost a week now...the timer will start at 20 hours or so (it is a one day per move game) and run down to about 75 minutes, then the player will go on vacation for a short time, and when he returns the clock is reset to almost a full day and we start the process all over again...today is the fourth or fifth time he has done it...does anyone know how to stop this bozo from doing this? thanks rich

its sad to say but nothing can stop a player from being a jerk.

FuzzleOIL

Why is the clock reset a (almost) a full day? Should be fixed.

I think it works as follows:  vacation time is consumed in units of one day.  If you come back from vacation before the full day is used, the difference is added to your clock.

Pulpofeira

Make a premove and forget about it.

He's a sore loser. It's a common affliction.

Vacation time is limited and your opponent will eventually burn through the amount available.

Intentionally prolonging a completely lost game via vacation is against the rules so you could report it though.

That is trivial to find out but posting it is also against site rules and shouldn't be done.

I agree with the premove and move on suggestion. You've come to within one move of check-mating him so the rest is just technicalities.

If you're only one move away from mate, who cares?  Just go under the conditional moves section and make sure you play out all scenarios accurately.  That way you don't have to worry about it.  If the guy wants to exhaust all of his vacation time on a lost game, so be it.

???? When I look at your profile it shows you have 5 games going. Only one game has been going for more than 4 days, and it is nowhere near being one move from checkmate.

The player has now moved and the game is over.

Ha! I guess he got to complain just in time. This thread was started only 105 minutes ago! Cool

Maybe the thread prompted the opponent to move, an example of "indirect shaming".

What's also sad is that people clog up the forums complaining about this crap every bloody day.  You're as bad as your opponent in my book.

If youre 1 move from mate, premove your last move and move on.

This is really my first time in this forum posting...Spend most of my time with other card traders...so let me say this...most of you thanks for the kind words, to the few who think that their opinion overrides my desire to ask shame on you...
