digital chessboard and pieces

I use ChessBase Light, available at http://www.chessbase.com/download/cblight2007/index.asp. Unfortunately, it doesn't allow you to save board in the free version, but it offers a great, large chessboard on which you can move pieces around, have real-time analysis of the position, create variations (for example, I'm reading The Amateur's Mind by IM Jeremy Silman, and he presents a game analyzed by several people; I can do the discussed moves, go back to the inital position and try other variations, and then go back to another variation to compare)
I must say I'm not far from paying though, it's a great software.
Otherwise, I wrote the software before finding it (you know, software developers sometime do weird things), I may make it available sometime in the future... even though there are already several excellent ones out there.

thank you for you input.
i downloaded cb light and it looks nice.
so far i could not find the feature I was looking for. when creating a new board i can only move according to the rules and i can not remove pieces. can you tell me what to do?

Just to the right of the board you'll see radio buttons for "Play" (selected) and "Setup." Select "Setup" and I think you're good to go.
There might be better looking online analysis boards out there; this was the first one I found.

Select File, New, Position Setup. You're able to put more than 8 pawns if you wish.
Select a piece and click to add, click to remove. To move, right click, move and release. Obviously, if you don't want any verification of whether the move is legal, you won't be able to explore the game history, as it's only a position.
Note that if the final position is legal, and you want to play from it, once you're done press on "Copy FEN", close the window, and do File, New, Board. You can then do Edit, Paste, Game Data and you'll then have the opportunity to see what Fritz is thinking, try variations etc.
hello,
does anyone of you know a digital chessboard + pieces. I must be able to remove and add pieces at will. just like a real chessboard. I do not need a computer or a system that checks if I moved according to the rules.
I just need it to visualize some situations.
is there such a freeware programm or internet site? I have not found this on chess.com
