disable chat completely?

Is there a way to disable chat? I do not  want to see the chat requests.

You can disable chat for games in Settings > Privacy (or under the Live and Daily settings respectively). You can't disable the site wide chat, just decline them when there are messages.

I would also prefer to have the chat request off, no flags no nothing. It messes up with my concentration from whats the next move to "wonder what this player just sent me".
