YAAAAAAAAAAY they added real captions! Still zero excuse for it to not be taken care of by the time of upload like every other responsible large brand with high production values, but I'm glad they got it together eventually, even if I had to spend half an hour combing through at 0.5x speed myself first
Speaking of disabled players, anyone else getting really frustrated at the Chesscom youtube channel's lack of real captioning?
I just spent time combing through the new April Fool's video painstakingly transcribing it as best I could because it's full of parts I couldn't easily understand (and some I still can't make out even after much effort at 0.5x speed), and somehow my comments keep getting auto-deleted (which I'm sure is automated and not deliberate, but it's still seriously pissing me off) and I'm just really frustrated right now that even when a community member tries to make up for a task that Chesscom should have been doing themselves already, it goes nowhere.
(Not shading Anish at all, btw -- his speaking is quite clear, especially for someone for whom English isn't their first language, it ain't about that. But some sections have lots of background noise and the whole video is full of reverb, which makes it downright impossible for me to understand some parts ... and I just have mild auditory integration issues. Plenty of deaf/HoH people enjoy chess. I'm getting really fed up with the brand's lackadaisical neglect of captions. Given the amount of work that goes into their video production already, it would be a trivial difference to just add real captions too.)
Anyway, for anyone like me who couldn't follow most of today's video, here's my transcription attempt that keeps getting deleted from the comments there: (Edit: they finally added real captions and mine was full of "??????" substitutions for unclear words so I'm just deleting it in favor of the real ones now lol)
