Probably because mathematics interests you.
Unfortunately the only thing that crocodile is truly interested in talking about is himself... so good luck having an actual conversation with him. Heh.
Actually I wanted him to come back because he made me crack up. I know I won't get a good maths conversation with him even assuming he was honest about his math knowledge in the first place which I currently have my doubts about.
even assuming he was honest about his math knowledge in the first place which I currently have my doubts about.
Exactly
Let's see... dawn is only a few hours away in the land of England. Perhaps he'll pop up soon.
Unfortunately by then I'll be much more sober, and much more tired... not that I need my A game to yawn at his autobiographical posts. More the opposite. I'll need the clearest head possible in order to afford him the quantity of cordial doubt necessary to respond to his posts at all.
As it is by the time he reappears I'll be probably be fast asleep...
I thought it was your L game. But I can see your point about A as well. mmmmmmmmmmmmm
That will probably get me blacked.
I'm not so ridiculous that I block people for disagreeing with me.
In fact being proved wrong is one of the most exciting experiences for an individual who is truly interested in truth.
That's part of why I find his posts so utterly boring. He talks about himself instead of explaining in excruciating detail, and undeniable logic, why what I've said is incorrect. THAT is the sort of post I relish...
... so you think I might block you for disagreeing with me? Quite the opposite. I block people who are so utterly incapable of defeating me that I regard the topic as better off without them.
even assuming he was honest about his math knowledge in the first place which I currently have my doubts about.
Exactly

I'm not going to actually block you, but I just wanted to point out your hypocrisy. You're probably going to block me for pointing out your hypocrisy, but I don't actually care whether or not you block me l.

I don't block people for being part of the community, I block them for contributing zero.
I'm happy to have people disagree with me, it's part of what makes any interaction worthwhile, so of course I wont block you.
Where did the crocodile guy go? I honestly want him/her to come back
I did look back feeling a little bit sorry for Llama.....but then I do live in a world where arguing (sometimes semantics) is part of my life.
I admit, I disagreed with him, but and I wasn't giving him a fair go.
Initially I kind of disagreed with his thoughts on the thrust of the video - I have a bit of a live and let live attitude to the whole chess world, Hikaru is arrogant, but Philador was arrogant too (and Steinitz....with plenty of games to demonstrate where it bit his in the backside).
In return I was doing a little bit of an arrogance speedrun and it may have come across incorrectly - we (most of us) have cause to be arrogant about one thing or another - I think having a go at Hikaru (or Levy Rosman ?spelling?) as being the only guilty parties is a bit rich - they are just the most prominent; unless you want to start having a go at the kids, one of whom I noticed the 'hyper-arrogant' Hikaru was being very supportive of in advance of an important tournament this weekend.
I'm surprised that your that naive, hikaru was just acting. You see all the time in politics, trump donating his entire presidential salary to charity wasn't an act of kindness. Pretending to be kind is easier than actually being kind, just because hilary did something nice doesn't change his track record of being a sore loser and drawer. For example after drawing a winning position against Gawain Jones, he claimed that Gwain knew nothing about chess, even though he was 2600.

My d@mn autocorrect changed hikaru into hilary.
Autocorrect spotted trump and tried to make sense of what you were saying. But it obviously is unaware of the chess.com guidelines. But then again, it might be giving you a hint.
