Now I don’t really care. This is entertainment to me. If there’s an outside chance that a likely unsound sacrifice will work, I’ll do it. I’d rather go down in flames giggling than be bored. I’ve been known to resign abruptly in a closed/drawn middle game because I’d rather go watch Netflix than shuffle pieces around. It’s a character flaw.
Disgustingly Bad Players Who Only Attack (part 2)

I'm almost the opposite. I error on the side of playing boring positions and winning in the endgame.
When I was a new player, I thought tactics were how little kids won against bad players. I thought "real" players won with strategy and endgames.
I was wrong because "real" players don't care how they win, they'll play any kind of position as long as it's good for them.
the opening is interesting....
d3 setups are nice in blitz. Most players have a mental block as black, not realizing they should play d5.
At least most players who aren't any good... if I were playing someone my rating it wouldn't be as easy to get away with this junk
After d5, if you take, it looks like a Scandinavian where you've played d3 and the opponent played d5.
Yeah, and even in 1...c5 openings.
After 1.e4, if black can "successfully" play d5, then usually they've already equalized.
Sure "successfully" is vague enough to be meaningless, but the point is d5 is good, and passive play by white allows it
Yeah, I know, I had both positive and negative experiences with playing d5 in Sicilian. In many cases even when it is defended enough, white gets initiative and you are either dead or almost dead.
Haha ![]()
I like that attack... but it wasn't even that barbaric, it had some sort of technical flair to it I'd say, Nxg7 looks like the best for me (I didn't analyze just looked at it lol that's probably why) and that Rad8 looked very Morphyan, or even dare I say professional, just cold-blooded... but yes opponent should've been more careful on that open h-file... but I mean, if you're playing blitz and you can sac a minor piece for 2 pawns and an attack you don't even think you just do it... the classic "first I sac then i'll think" but that is just my style, a true patzer who wants to sac and attack... whenever I can i'll pile my pieces in front of my opponents king and then once they're all roaming over there I'll start thinking and try and come up with a plan

Hey thanks ![]()
Yeah, I think Rad8 is a classy move. The engine points out it's dumb, but the fact the someone plays a move like that in blitz (the only back rank piece I hadn't moved yet, and denying entry to d2) usually means they're not a completely trash player.

Just looked with the engine, it gives Nxg7 practically equal position but for a human in blitz defending with an exposed king it's never equal...
The engine gives Rad1 (funny we both wrote Rad8 lol) gives a draw... which is not bad, and at that point you already had a rook and 2 pawns for two knights which should be a winning endgame maybe if you can trade everything else? Funny tho how sometimes the greedy begginer-ish move is often the best one, yeah stockfish is ice cold indeed. But fine move nevertheless... just bring your last piece into the game, that's why I said it was morphyan lol but yeah principle of the least active piece, right?
Where is part 1?
Nice, but I feel like this one your opponent helped a little compared to the other who defended better imo
The point was to show a game where I played badly, so I actually like the one I posted years ago better ![]()
These are my favorite opponents, Llama. What I hate is the smart ones, who defend - stopping my attack, - such rudeness ! all I ask is to checkmate, but nooo... he won't let me - he want his king alive geez... don't want your queen, you can give me checks, take all you want. "no ! I will defend ! ". how Dare they? how?! aaaarrrrrgggghhhhhhhhh!!!
Where is part 1?
Almost 2 years ago from an old account.
This was the game:

I'm Proud of you. nothing I appreciate more than a mate with queen and pawn. very artistic.
(the game "me vs. Anonymous")
and the fact that his rook is helping the mate - priceless. beautiful.
Recently came across this mate pattern. Kinda pretty. Might as well post it here.

superb! never seen anything like it before.

Yeah. At some point after the opening I was so unimpressed with my opponent's play, and I was so sure I'd win if I played normal moves, that I decided I wanted to sacrifice something to at least give myself something to calculate.
Oh man. Have you not seen these players who literally rook lift to attack with 2 pieces on the board lol?
