Coming up with this was a fun little exercise. This is how I feel 95% of my games go:

1) Preparation for your specific opponent
2) Pre-game psychology
3) Regular Opening
4) Novelty - dubious or sound
5) Struggle to refute novelty or gain advantage from novelty
6) Consolidation of any advantages
7) Endgame
8) Studying the novelty post-game
1. You prepare for the game.
2. You and your opponent sit in front of each other, all the pieces prepared.
3. The Game is in the opening phase.
4. The Opening ends. Both you and your opponent prepare a middlegame plan.
5. You attempt to execute your plan and/or defend from your opponent's attack.
6. The Game is in the EndGame Phase.
7. You win/lose the game.
8. You analize the game, alone or with your opponent.
8. You analize the game
hmmm... i wonder what that means...
I wanted to say that, after the game, you look at it, try to find where you or your opponent could have gone better or, if you're with someone, try to play on from a move where you found an interesting variation or discuss what should white/black have done in a specific position.
Or, of course, you can give the game to Fritz/Rybka/Houdini and let the machine give you this result.
Analyze*... your spelling could have some.... interesting interpretations
Hahaha, I'd have never thought of this "misinterpretations".
I'm not English, so sometimes I make spelling mistakes.
1. The early opening (Where a few moves and surprises happen,1.e4 e5 2.Ke2!!)
2.Variation Phase
3.Early middle game (Plans developed, this is where I usually drop a pawn)
4.Havoc time (All the pressure builds up, and the game gets messy, 40% of the games would probably end here)
5.Exchange Phase (if phase four didn't work, then we go to this phase, and after trading down a lot of pieces, I find myself in a pawn down endgame
6.Early Endgame (When you get tortured by your opponent if you are always one pawn down like me)
7.Waiting phase (Or resignation phase) You wait till your opponent mates you
8. Depression phase
Well, that is at least how my cycle goes
The Learning Phase, or, "How the horsey moves."
The Curiosity Phase, or, "1.e4 2.Bc4 3.Qf6!"
The Attraction Phase, or, "I Play the Ruy Lopez!"
The Beginning Student Phase, or, "I jumped the gun on the Ruy Lopez. I think I may need to study tactics and endgames."
The Advanced Student Phase, or, "Tactics and endgames are so dry. I'm studying My System!"
The Regressing Student Phase, or, "My System was so conservative and archaic -- I play the BDG now!"
The Ultimate Student Phase, or, "#### it. I'm playing the London."
The Enlightenment Phase, or, "Chess is stupid. Who else wants beer?"
hilarious.
