Plus "this man" (Anatoly Karpov) is the only WCC and the only WCC who has lost a tournament game in only 12 moves!!

Anatoly Karpov may have reached great heights in his chess career but losing games in 12 as well as 13 moves and being unable to win a game with the advantage of K+Q+B+P against a lone K and pawn has tarnished his achievments.

The first thing looks like a zeitnot story where the context is conveniently put aside.

As for the second, it may be true that no other WCC lost in 12 moves - but Anand, who is not exactly a patzer, lost in 4.

can you post more bobby fischer photos

how were you able to take so many pictures of him?  Why didn't you use a digital camera when you took those photos.  they would have been more clearer and could have been in color instead of black & white

Avatar of tobeim

digital cameras didn't exist back then and color film was expensive

Avatar of greenfreeze

how much did kodak film cost?

Bobby Fisher came into this world to play Chess and become the World Champion of Chess by beating the Soviets. Many people believe this, not just Americans. Many people also believe that it was no coincidence that he died at the age of 64,the same number of squares on a Chess board. Many of us started learning to play Chess because of him, especially young people. Bobby was like the Tiger Woods of Chess. He was a Hero to us all.

I know people like to read some deep meaning into everything but sorry, it's entirely coincidental that Bobby's age at the time of his death was 64.

You're probably right.

I posted an in-depth write up a month ago about Bobby Fischer but I never could find it. It concerned the Fischer-Spassky match which I followed daily in 1972. I guess my writing required a higher membership in Chess.com.

Fischer was the greatest chess star ever. And the best-paid player in the history of chess

Greatest chess quote of all time: "Fischer was not such a bad player indeed.Only Karpov,Botvinnik,Lasker,Petrosian,Kasparov,Smyslov and Tal are better than him. However,Fischer is the favorite player of checker players and beginners." Alexandra Thessa,2015.

I guess I have to apologise on behalf of the rest of the Greek members of the site: not all of them are idiotic trolls.

Yeah I'm suprised that member hasn't been banned yet. Fischer is clearly the choice of trolling topic for those with no imagination.

First of all, you should apologise for offending me. I am not one of your goats.

Of course you aren't. Goats are useful, pretty, and intelligent.

well, I think Fisher is overrated. Although I agree he is one of the best players ever, I would definitely not say that he is the best.. My personal choices are Magnus (obviously), or maybe Kasparov. For me he is on the level of Capablanca/Alekhine/Botvinnik. Not that I am expert on the topic, but beating Spassky does not seem persuasive enough for me.

Of course Karpov was not such a bad player himself.  However he had one weakness - playing like a common ordinary patzer.

Yeah, Karpov is [sic] not a bad player, but he has got nothing on the chess skills or logical genius (err, I mean fallacies) of yeres30.

What a DamnS.
