Do Asian types from Singapore, Bali and some remote islands play chess?

Maybe you could go and find out if they play chess on North Sentinel Island too?

They don’t. They also don’t have internet.

How will this help the site grow?

How will we make money from people without money?

How do we hand out free Tshirts I did not get to people who don’t wear shirts?

These are the finer details and problems that face us when trying to grow the site.

Not many understand this. But thanks for your suggestion.

Elon Musk and his brethren (apparently) plan to bring the disruptive internet to all mankind.

Perhaps then we will ascend into our higher chakras?

Australia totally fits, I wanted to go once and asked them if you still need a criminal record to get in. My visa got denied.

The visa requirements have been relaxed in recent years. These days you can get in if you can present evidence of a couple of misdemeanor convictions, or even traffic violations.

Is nothing sacred anymore?

Sounds reasonable. Even the greatest Russian grandmasters had to learn English before they could enrol in the famous Soviet School of Chess and start playing chess.

Live update!!!

Bali...day1.

I am having some beers watching  folks working in their rice and vegetable fields.

literally nobody has asked me to play chess.

Right now their is nobody in the fields and I don’t have a chess set out but still....this does not bode well for chess in Bali. My suspicions about chess in the region is clearly spot on so far.

@bugulugu seems have his account hacked. He is now the electric boogaloo.

According to Google translate, the Indonesian for "I want to play chess" is "Saya ingin bermain catur." They didn't have a Balinese translation. Good luck on your expedition.

I've actually spent the last four months in South East Asia and I haven't played OTB chess even once.

There are several regional versions of chess, which might affect your results, especially out in the rice paddies.

If the other recent "Asian" thread is any indication, the first learning question would be "How do the horsies taste?"
