@DaBabysBurner, you are flying the Togo flag which I know for sure is in Africa... my son worked as a volunteer there for six months.

1. You can be Asian and live in Togo at the same time

2. I'm not actually from Togo, I change my flags for security

Thank you for telling me your son worked in Togo though?

It is pretty unheard of for Asians to live in that part of Africa but I didn't realise that you were working undercover.

I am not really from the UK, I live on the Galapagos Islands.

After Russia and USA, China is the strongest chess nation.

Here in USA, there are barely any players who are actually from US. Almost all of them are from India or China.

I haven't been to a chess club in the US, but you're telling me that few people at such places are from the US? People that play chess in parks (if TV shows are to be believed), few of them are from the US?

he means "stronger" players e.g;

Wesley So (Filipino)

Hikaru Nakamura (Japanese)

Fabiano Caruana (Italian-American)

as in professional players

     Caruana was born and raised in Miami.

     Nakamura's mother is an American and he has lived in the US since he was two years old.

     If we are classifying people as Chinese, Indian, or whatever because of where their ancestors lived, the only actual Americans are the Native Americans. Everyone calls Bobby Fischer an American even though his mother was from Switzerland and his (probable) father Hungarian.

I highly doubt that chess is limited to a few races. In other words, anyone can play chess.
