Here in USA, there are barely any players who are actually from US. Almost all of them are from India or China.
I haven't been to a chess club in the US, but you're telling me that few people at such places are from the US? People that play chess in parks (if TV shows are to be believed), few of them are from the US?

   If we are classifying people as Chinese, Indian, or whatever because of where their ancestors lived, the only actual Americans are the Native Americans. Everyone calls Bobby Fischer an American even though his mother was from Switzerland and his (probable) father Hungarian.
