You will not beat Magnus Carlsen.
Do I have to be talented in chess to beat Magnus Carlsen?

The OP is 100% misguided.
Playing the game to "beat" the WC, he will play for a few months at best.
Really is a shame, that new players do not have a CLUE regarding the "spirit of chess." They begin play for all the wrong reasons, uneducated and deluded that "intelligence" is a measure of play.
What does talent mean? Where does it come from and how is it measured? If I were to work extremely hard without having the thing named talent in the next couple of years studying and playing chess, would I be able to beat all of the age levels in the Play Magnus app and beat the real Magnus Carlsen? Or would I never beat him because he is too talented. From what I heard, Carlsen has been studying from lots of chess books and has n exquisite memory. I don't know if this good memory is a result of having an affinity towards chess or talent or IQ.
[an exchange of letters between Mozart and a young man]
One boy sent a letter to Mozart asking:
"How do I compose a song?"
Mozart replied:
"you are not ready!"
The boy then says:
"But I'm already 16 and you wrote your first song with 9"
Mozart replied:
"But I did not ask anyone how to do it!"
....
Anyway, talent in chess involves some mental abilities like good memory, ability to concentrate, recognition of patterns, etc. A person with these characteristics advances the first stages in a natural way. Without reading or learning it already reaches a relatively high level for a beginner, seeing that person play immediately identifies talent, because he is doing things that we need to learn. We are imitators and this person shows the ability to create by itself!
PS:
on otherside, all abilities which compose 'talent' in chess can be learned and trainned. For example, it is possible learn and train concentrattion, or memory, or pattern recognizing, etc. etc. But in chess we have too much to learn, by using his time training\developing others factors one waste too much time - the enough to make he forgot chess?
Magnus Carlsen is greater than the greatest chess engine. You will lose even if you cheat (use a chess engine)
Use alpha0

I saw this post and thought... "trolls don't have any tact nowadays" Fail Troll bumps his post 2 more times and gets answered for pity. you took it too far. I mean what a stupid question. obviously anyone can beat Carlson if they just play 500 blitz games and solve the daily puzzle. NP you will be the champ... of a shitty bridge... that trolls live under.

Everyone has talent. It is just that you have to discover it. If you want to beat Magnus Carlsen, play chess and learn. Rome wasn't built in a day and so beating a world champion is no easy task so you have to practice a lot. It will take years but all those work will be worth it. Good luck tho!

well, Rome wasn't built in a day so... at least you can take comfort in that.
*Thinking*
Oh hey google, how many days did it take for Rome to be built?
Google :
So far it's taken approximately 1,009,491 days to build Rome. This is based on the traditional founding of the city (21 April 753 BCE), but we should also consider that the city has been sacked and rebuilt several times." I did the math, that's about 276 years.

You should be a physics teacher in high school here in Brazil. It would be fun to see you try to prove your thesis that everyone has talent trying to put math and physics in the head of some young people in a country whose average IQ revolves around 87 ...
Probably any healthy human being has talent when he has just been born, after a decade of living development has already followed a path many times without a return! Talent is all about it.
It is debatable whether it is possible to 'make up for lost time' in some things.

hehhee.. so everyone has talents. DISCOVER IT PEOPLE!
this is a lie.
In dreams it is, but in reality it is not.

I love physics by the way.
I am going to prove it to you. Re - think on your choices..
