Do Openings Matter?

I posted this game in Reddit and they said "openings don't matter, the only reason Black lost is because they blundered the knight and the rook." If you analyze this game with an engine, it will say White was plus 4 by move 6 even before Black blundered away the knight and rook.

So was the game won completely by tactics like they claim, or did Black wasting time on whipping the Queen out too early and playing h5 for no reason thus letting White take complete control of the center in the opening have something to do with White's victory?

Also, how do you post a board with the moves from the game? Because whenever I try to it's just an empty board with a square and pencil inside and doesn't post anything (I tried both uploading and pasting in the pgn) so that's why I just posted the moves in the OP.

Of course they do along with other aspects of the game.

Openings can give you certain advantages throughout the entire match. Try out different openings to see which ones suit you.

Every part of the game matters, including the moves made early but Openings, as they are often discussed are not important.

It's better to avoid prep or rote learning and instead to draw on a fluid style of operational intelligence, to think qualitatively and romantically, to derive moves.

as soon as you start rehearsed openings or endgames or whatever else part of the games you've already approached chess the wrong and less fruitful way

It's more about understanding the ideas behind the opening than memorizing moves.
