This thread survived more than 5 years. "About to get locked" is a bit optimistic.

Because believe it or not, the mods don’t really want to lock threads - chess.com is very lenient in t he way it allows things to stand, and there was no politics in the beginning. A little bit has started to creep in, so it will depend if the mod thinks a friendly admonishment will suffice if they decide it’s just not worth the effort to monitor on an ongoing basis and just lock it in expectation of what it will become once the trolls and bad actors arrive.

Why did the OP use Israel?

I ask if we believe everything we hear and see in media? Wars can be fought with pictures and words. This is chess.com. Politics, manipulation, decoys, psychological warfare: all are used to create civil unrest.

The Question should be Why players use flags of Israel and Iran? No doubt players from ALL countries play in chesscom.
