Do transpositions matter

I am wondering if taking a different journey to the same destination changes the way a person plays?

For example as black I play the pterodacyl, but I play it two ways:

I either go c5, g6, bg7 or I choose the order g6, bg7, c5. Whould you play differently depending on the order?

Some times move order does matter. There are cases that because of move order you can limit the responses from your opponent, or avoid going into lines you don't like. One example is the Sveshnikov Scicilian which has two move orders which could limit white's responces:

its almost the same thing but the difference between the knite coming out sooner than later may make the diference depending on the oponent. There are a few white systems that derive from one of those variations that cannot be played if done in the other move order. If you know your opponent plays this system why bring his game to him? You could have the edge just by swiching the move order a bit!
