White because you get the 1st move, meaning you can prevent an op opening from black like the caro-kann by d4.

I wouldn't say "easily" but it definitely seems that way for me as well.
I checked my recent W/L records for when I played white and black. My recent games where i played white are at 62% for wins (27/1/10) and black is at 52% (20/2/16).
