I agree. Chess without engines was more mysterious, players had to use their own brains more to find novelties and refuting lines, and in regards to online play cheating wouldn't be much of an issue.

i think that if someone needs help they should get it from someone that knows the game without paying a price

I think chess is more mainstream because of the engines. More science, less art. That said, only scumbags would cheat using engines.

I think chess is less "mysterious" for engines, but for humans it is still an interesting and beautiful game to play. "Mystery" and "Mastery" are two rhyming and important words Smile
