I think it's easier than the general public (i.e. non-chess players) makes it out to be. When I started playing a year and a half ago, I didn't think I'd ever come close to being a half-decent player, but here we are.
Do you consider chess hard?
I think chess is easy. The rules are instinctual at this point. However, playing good chess and improving is VERY hard. The more I improve, the harder further improvement becomes.
People who think of chess as hard do not know what hard is.

If you choose to believe that but if I may say everyone has a right to their opinion. I don't really have the need to try and convince people. Think of this as a sharing forum. Think of me as any other chatter.

From a weightlifter's perspective it is definitely not hard, I'll give you that. But something tells me you meant something else.
It's striking that chessboards are often introduced into film scenes to indicate that a character is intelligent. For example, detective Somerset (Morgan Freeman) has one in his flat in Se7en, and his intellectualism is a plot point of the film.
Chess is hard. It's part of what makes chess worthwhile. If you think it's easy then good for you. Happy chess, 🙂♟️
I find it soul destroying & a frustrating game. Really hard to choose what moves to play sometimes it literally hurts my head.

Try running 30 miles in 40 minutes for the army. David Goggins as a coach is rough.
I do not.
