I could tell you a spectacular story from a bank robber I know .... 5 gees in prison....
Do you have an experience of playing chess for $$$?
yes, five minute games at 50 pence stake per game, that's all. You didn't win/lose more than £10 in an evening./
Chess is a terrible game to bet on because of skill differences and there's no luck. but ok I did it once.
I was just starting to read chess books so I sucked but still better than the average bozo that walks into a coffee shop. I was working at a coffee shop at the time (that was named after a tarot card), and playing a chess game in the cafe with my friend who was even worse at chess than me.
I'm not sure how it happened but we decided to con some random guy who walked in, so I intentionally lost badly to my friend and then begged for a rematch, offering to wager a dollar on it. He refused obviously because "he didn't want to take my money." So on cue this guy is like, "I'll play you for a dollar!". I was poor so my friend fronted me a dollar, and we set the board up and played.
This time it was all the tricks I'd learned from "Winning Chess Tactics" instead of 1 h4 and 2. Rh3. So I mow this guy down in like 20 moves or something, and he grudgingly hands over the dollar. And I'm totally giddy at this point and say, "Wow, my first dollar winning chess, but we did it together. We should share it!" And then, just like that, I ripped the dollar in half right in front of the guy and handed the other half to my friend, who was at this point laughing hysterically.
You are not throwing away money it's not a casino, if you loose you learn something if you win you get the money
I've not played chess for money. I only played poker for money. Poker for money makes sense because the game is built around the concept of money being at stake.
Betting on chess games will make chess look bad. It already has given chess bad reputation in some places.

I understand the concept chap, but in my case I would be tossing it. I can learn here, or pay for coaching.
When I was twelve, I played a game for a dollar, which I won. The loser suggested a rematch for double-or-nothing. I lost the second second game after a spectator suggested several moves. The loser demanded that I pay two dollars because I lost the second game.
The next time a wagered was when I was 21 in San Fransico. I routed the street hustlers.

Poker encourage you with nothing just gamble more.
Chess for money will encourage you to learn the game faster, after you loose 20$ you will want to improve to take your money back that way at the end EVERYONE get better in someway in a game going to tournaments, achieving some titles, getting more respected in society etc... and becoming good in poker? Hah pointless waiste of time , you are not going to brag that you are good in poker people be like oh ok gambler, card game , criminal etc.. But good in chess a different story even if you say you play for money and win it's a different story people will respect you for it it means you are smart and winning coz you have skills not by chance

No. It is factually not true that poker is just chance and no skill as you suggested. Just check online about poker skill. It is a deep strategy game which also has many books written about how to win and it also hasn't champions.
Chess for money would be no different. You say it's different but you contradict yourself by saying that people will want to learn game faster and improve to get $20 back. That is exactly what gambling is. People lose money and then they want to "win it back". The skill or chance does not mater. Absence of chance in chess does not mean it is not gambling. Also in the end people will not care about chess itself but they'll care about winning money.
Ive no idea why you claim that becoming better at chess because of gambling will make you "more respected in society". Can you give an example in what society gambling in chess will generate respect? Additionally EXACTLY because people can get measurably better in chess where chance is absent nobody will want to play the strongest players. Why would anybody gamble against a player they know is better and where chance couldn't make them winner? Skilled players will immediately be motivated to lie about their skill. They'll pretend to be weaker players.
Poker is garbage you have two aces and still loose it's alL about chance, luck let's say you have 2 and 3 , you still can win come on most likely not unless you get LUCKY on the river ...etc With chess 2 queens you win almost 100%
People will respect you in society not coz you gamble chesd daily , but coz you are a strong player no metter what.! And even if you were gambling and winning everyday in chess still you are a smart guy coz there is no chance it means you are super smart, strong and rich getting all the money having the skills
If so please share.
I'm not talking about tournament games here, I'm talking about betting.
