Don`t pay attention to losers who talks shit of winners. They have always been around since the Earth was created.
Do you have talent for chess? Find out easily!

I started playing chess seriously 8-9 months ago(16 year old) when I had torn my ankle ligaments. That is the only good thing that the injury gave me.
At that time when i registered on chess.com i was pretty lame, a beginner, around 900 ...but now I'm around 1450-1500, just registered into a club, and looking forward to my chess future
So I believe that its never too late. Oh yeah the game Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition helped me a lot, I would recommend the game to everyone, it's got a great tutorial, you can play tournaments, you can play blindfolded matches, simultaneous matches and it has got a great opening database! Cheers
A kinda similar story like GruesomeTaco's
If you are curious about how much chess talent you have got take a look at this:
This is Julio Becerra, started at age 13 who had a fide 2300 FM at age 18(after 5 years) and got there without studying, just analysing own games(without engine! was no at that time.) He started to study only after 2300!!! AAAAAAHHHH!

This is Alex Dunne, started to play at age 13, who became 2180 fide within 5 years from just playing and analysing own games(without engine) and got stuck there for 20 years till he started to study, then he became a FM 2300 and went down in rating to 2200 as he got older.

Now take me. I started at age 17 and without study just analysing own games(with engine but it does not count since all I learned from it is where I did a tactical mistake. My analysing "techniques" with engine were shit compaired to now) became A Class player(around 1850) after 5 years ! Gerses cryst. Then I stayed as a weak A Class player for 3 years till I started to study/analyse intensively. Only this year-2011(my 10th year) did I cross 2000 fide in performance and I know I am going up now none-stop and can cross 2200, just a matter of getting more consistent. (those who will say "What r u talking about dude u play like shit and your rating sux in online chess "-just shut up. you know nothing, it`s all because of exhaustion periods from too much study and experiments). Now I am 2100 in fide.
