Do You Play Better Over The Board Or Virtually?

Never played OTB chess.

I'm really weird i can play normally OTB and I can play normally on a phone screen but as soon as I'm online with a computer screen i'll play like at 1000 wheres i can play like an 1800 OTB or on my phone. ALso when i play ppl online i just cant do it i get randomly nervous which is why my accounts rated so low

I personally i trash at online chess. I have beaten people of 1300 elo on physically boards but my chess.com Leo is around 600

It's about comfort growing up I played on a board, but didn't always have someone to play with. With chess being online it allowed me to begin playing more. However, after years of playing online I played on a board today and it was bad. The layout is different, the way I viewed board felt awkward, I mistake his king for a queen. It's like practicing basketball in your home gym then going to play on a random outdoor court. It's a different feel. Also, a computer the view of the board is at an angle facing you, while a chess board you're looking down.

i play better over the board bc i got so much distractions in a digital one

I guess it's cause the perspective how you perceive the moves , for me since I started playing chess on chess.com I perceive better online but still play pretty much well OTB
