Has Chess made You more Focused or Chess made You more Aimless/Distracted ?

I do not know whether it is a right yardstick to corelate whether a field is gambling or not. But generally one of the feature of gambling is that it makes the person distracted.

Is chess gambling? I don't think so. Does chess mess with human egos? For most humans I think it does.

It isn't gambling if skill has a role and not just luck.
