Do you think hard work can make you a better chess player?

I was watching an interview of Fischer and he said somethig like this:

Interviewer: Do you think it is possible to be a great chess player if you don't have natural talent?

Fischer:Great, no. You could be good though. A lot of the top players I see aren't that talented really, they just work like dogs.

Agree? Disagree?

No, studying and playing chess will make you a better player. Hard work wears you out and makes you only think of having a beer.

Hard work will help your talent meet it's true potential.
