Nakamura recently said on his stream , that when he was young and on his peak he can do 15 boards at the same time and maybe, just maybe if he practice now constantly he can again maybe 20 boards, that's it ! He said he won't be capable to do any more and he also said 50 boards is just not just crazy , or spectacular or amazing, but simply out of this world and Alien like.

So I started wondering what about Magnus Carlsen?  Can he do it if he starts  practicing?

i can break his record.. i could do 100 boards blindfolded but all my games would be losses by fool's mate. you're talking about playing not winning

No , your gonna end up losing all games with illegal moves

Timur Gareyev playing 48 blindfold games at once is amazing.  A friend played one of the boards, and said that he made 1 illegal move out of all those games.

Depends on how well he has to play, if there isn't any requirement for winning games then even I could do a hundred boards at a time

It's not about winning souch it's about holding all this information in your head, 100 boards! ? Even Nakamura can do only 15 , he said it himself.

Impressive indeed , even Nakamura said that he can do 15-20 MAX ! And he said 50 boards is something unhuman .

Do you think Magnus can beat this records?

This is just my .02, and I have nothing to back it up as fact.

Where we have someone like Magus that was destined to achieve chess greatness.  We are also given someone that is "nothing more" than a 2600 GM that is able to do something that the world champion cannot do.  Why?  I certainly dont have the answer.

I have done 6 in the past, so I see no reason Magnus cannot do 66 with some practice. But I don't think he will attempt something like that without considerable financial interest.

Yeah but Hikaru said himself, that he can do 15 MAX and with practice maybe just maybe 20 ! He also said it's mind blowing and out of this world 50 !

Where did you take 66 number from ?  I mean why 66 in particular?

I think not even past world champions could do anything like that !

Do you really believe Magnus can do it !? I mean Hikaru might not be as strong as Magnus but they are similar strength non the less and he can only do 15 his record.

Alekhine did 30 in the past

Good point

But in Comparison we have Nakamura who's someone way more the a "nothing more" 2600 GM and he said himself that he can't do more then 20 boards and his record is 15!

Also just out of curiosity , can you still do blindfold now ?

Human nature.  The closest i can come up with as far as an answer is that we are all hard wired for different things.

I can do the London opening on 10,000 boards.
DreamscapeHorizons

I was able to do 4 against weak competition about 30 years ago. Won all 4 twice. I didn't try for more, there were only 4 sets. I was 1800ish then.
