Do you think puzzles help make people better chess players?

I do puzzles just to keep my pattern recognition in shape, and I think it's a good way to get used to positions where there are tactics and notice those positions and capitalize. After doing that, it's just sharpening the pattern recognition

Also i just find them fun lol

It really does help only when are new or when you are very advanced. While your new you learn new tactics but when advanced those positions of the puzzle may come up.

Almost all experienced players say that puzzles are very useful, so I guess it's true. But I also think that solving puzzles in itself doesn't improve you as a player, but you need to solve them with the right criterion.

I'll try to explain. I solved 15,000 puzzles, exceeding 2700 points three times ( which shows that it is easy to climb this rating ), but my playing level remained more or less the same. What’s wrong then ? We probably have to try the failed ones again ( which I never do : each puzzle is a small challenge for me, if I fail I immediately look at the solution and move on to the next ). Or, perhaps after each puzzle we should stop for a moment, think about it and try to memorize the pattern. Maybe I have to solve another 15,000 before I start seeing the effects of this activity. I don't know.

It would be interesting if some master could explain to us if there is a correct method that makes solving puzzles effective and what it is.

You misunderstood me.

I think chess should be banned not because I don't like it but because it has a strong addictive potential just like for example alcohol, cigarettes etc. and takes way more time out of your life.

It's selfish to believe those who enjoy chess should be deprived of it simply because of your inability to overcome your addiction to it.
