Low rated players are notoriously not good (bad) at going with their intuition. I've heard Magnus talk about his intuition often being right, even though he may calculate just to feel sure. Is it our brain's way of providing a simple answer without having to "think about it"? It would seem like that would be a good evolutionary feature.
But is it real, or is it just our brain doing a quick cursory look at the options to tell us a fast answer?
