Carlsen plays plenty of tactical, complicated games. Go play through a bunch of his tournament wins and you'll see. But he is comfortable in simplified positions and "semi-endgames" as well. In fact, one of the strongest parts of his game is how he finds ways to enfuse even simple positions with tension and to keep posing difficult problems for his opponents. He will unbalance the position and continue to seek a win instead of shaking hands on a draw. This way of playing involves some risk
but how does he win so many times.... even guys like kramnik aronian don't win that much and arn't as good in the endgames as magnus
out of other top gms..
is he more conservative then kramnik? and other guys
