Hello!!! I'm just asking, does chess.com have a setting that can change the notation to descriptive notation? I am just asking this to help me read the old style notation on my books the Art of Defense in Chess by Andrew Soltis and Modern Chess Strategy by Ludek Pachman. Anyways, thank you again!!!! I appreciate if you respond.

I'm confused. You say you want to convert algebraic notation to descriptive.

But the old books would be in descriptive notation- P-K4 P-QB4 and so on.

I am guessing that you want to type in the moves in descriptive and have chess.com show you the games? Is that right?

If that's what you want, I don't think chess.com's game editor can handle it.

It's not hard to learn to read descriptive notation. That would probably be your best solution. https://www.chess.com/article/view/the-ghost-of-descriptive-notation

Or, you could encourage this guy to publish Modern Chess Strategy in algebraic.

I get descriptive notation and all of this old notation things but there are still some parts which are quite confusing. Thank you!
