They are 100% cheats , they do it in bullet games, its done with members who play for free its not just the bots they pitch against you as real players but uses other unfair tactics to downgrade your ratings from 1300 to 700, they use bots they eat up your time in a i min game, they even freezes your moves at decisive moments when you are going to checkmate your opponent and you looses the game due to time.

Your opponents can't impact your connection or game.

The site does not use bots in the player pools.

I assure you they do. They just don't want you to know. Just like years ago they denied having rampant cheating. Now we all know online chess is nearly unplayable due to cheating. Lie lie lie. Nothing new. The OTHER site is far better than this disgrace of a site.

The Lichess is a filthy site which does nothing but threaten to give temporary bans to all players who cross the line even a little bit.

I don't know if they use bots or not, what I know for a fact is this: I've went on a winning streak and jumped from 700 to 950 elo in a few games, winning most of them (10-15 min games). Then, and without any apparent reason I can't win a game out of 5. My opponents don't blunder a single piece, they use good tactics, etc. I feel I'm playing against kasparovs.

And this as happened more then one time. A few years ago I've quit because of this, now I'm back just to go thru the same thing again...

Something fishy is going on. I have this feeling that if I subscribe to some paid plan things will go back to normal. If that's what they want they better forget it because that's not gonna happen.

I'm down to 790. I'll keep on playing to see when will I start to win again.

Finally people are waking up to the thing i have been saying for over 2 years now. I love playing accounts created 10 years ago that have not played a singular game in over 9 years and came back last week and gained 700 points. Yeah sure lol. Like 50% or maybe even more of the accounts i face are created within the last couple of month to couple of hours ago. (it would be much more, but i dodge them)

The biggest proof that they use bots on the website is the existance of this Martin_Stahl guy 🤣🤣🤣

Yeah, this Martin_Stahl guy exhibits some AI behavior, definitely not human.

There's about 5 or 6 accounts that use AI to respond or are AI themselves. Just don't pay for a membership, that's all that matters at this point.

Chess.com has a big problem with cheaters and bots for sure

Yeah it probably is a marketing strategy

I used to play a lot of bullet tournaments (4889 bullet games played, 2212 wins). There's a lot of people who use the same attack system, scholar's mate etc. trying to quick win so I came up with my own defense strategy to that & used that in most of my games. With time people seemed to catch on to my strategy and there was more advanced techniques opponents that were able to crack open my defense so I started loosing more games. Some still do the quick attacks. I don't know if they are bots or people who have learned the basic quick attacks from Duolingo or other lessons. I did my repetitive technique for time management and to eventually win legend league. After I won that I went to learn lessons, do puzzles and try slower chess. I won a blitz tournament! I am getting much better at rapid. A couple of times over 90% accuracy.

I am annoyed that I never won a bullet tournament... Therefore I think I will go back competing bullet one day. I was able to reach nr.4 spot with same points as 2&3 so practically joined second place + 7:th place x2. But first blitz tournament I did I won. It was very surreal. Now I just really want to learn everything about chess & not do the same technique as I used in bullet. I think a lot of people have become robotic with playing bullet. It's not necessarily bots, although I don't know for sure. They just behave like bots 🤖 I have been wathching Alien earth series, perhaps they are a bit like cyborgs or hybrids 😁 If you think that people are quick in bullet u should try Lichess 15 second matches or 30 sec tournaments can be fun here too. After those normal bullet is kinda slow.

I wouldn't be surprised if they used two strategies. One, bots at different levels, not to intentionally bring down your rating but to make sure you are at the level you are supposed to be at. I am not against that.

The second use is similar to their daily puzzles. I remember they said something where a day like Monday has the easiest puzzles, then they get more difficult as the week progresses. This means at certain times you will get stronger competition.

The natural instinct here is to rematch or play someone else instead of stopping. Try this approach. Play a game after a 3 or more hour break. If you win, play more. If you lose, you can try one or two more, but if you continue to lose, STOP. Wait.

This might be a way that they prevent cheating. I played a game where I lost my queen, and there was an easy mate but they also lost their queen. They make it so your accuracy levels in the game are matched by "the opponent". I find this very hard for a human to achieve.

Another thing you can try is just take all their pieces and see if they resign. A human is more likely to do this because they know the result. If it is a computer it will continue and make moves to get you in a stalemate. Hard to believe an opponent would miss forks, captures, make bad queen moves and then all of a sudden become an endgame specialist. $$$$$$!$ this sounds like something a bot would say! There have been some plays where seems normal then random dumb moves, then they smoke every last move like happens when playing bots pretending to be on your level. Does this happen to others? Or are real people playing brain dead then score perfect moves? Is that a thing? I cant prove its a bot or someone cheating , but it reminds me of the low ranking computer bots blundering, then acing.

According to Dina Belenkaya (YouTube videos) at least the Russian classic school of chess begins with learning endgame so if someone is good at advanced endgame they have just studied it first. I've been concentrating on learning endgame specifically after analyzing game reviews that it was my weakest point, now it's much better. People usually learn from their mistakes and study weak points if smart enough to do so.
Avatar of DareTower
Who on earth would even want to play rapid at all if they didn't learn endgame? Ugh... Imagine getting to that point and spending all that time on just one game not knowing what to do in the end 😮 Would be absolute torture... It's only logical to learn endgame tactics first. With bullet that part doesn't much matter. It rarely goes to that but naturally helps if u know it just in case. I personally missed a queen fork today in the beginning. It happens.
