Does Chess Improve Memory

Do chess players have better memory ? Speaking for myself I have very good memory. I can remember better than my age peers. They don't play chess and other challenging games. What is your opinion?

I think I have good memory, but not from playing chess. I don't memorize or remember much in chess because I really don't play a lot.

I started playing chess at ,9 and play it regularly. At age ,9,my school grades are average. By 10 imy grades improve.

No, playing chess will not develop a lot of memory in general. Scientific studies have been conducted and it has been found that professional chess players do not have a very good memory in general, nor a very high IQ. But chess players have a very good ability to memorize and process information about chess.
