Life is an Open Tournament. Expect Competition and Rivalry from anyone... Majority from Peers but expect unusual rivals in the form of family and close friends. And one last and important thing to remember. Don't expect all your rivals and competitors would play Fair.. because you play fair. You can't tell the lion not to eat you... because you don't eat lions.

You didn't study Queen endgames. Opening theory and middle game strategy are useless.

Love the new contributions! Thanks peeps.

Also, for those who are new to this thread, the title was clickbait Lol. It doesn’t make you a “better person” but it can teach some life lessons.

Just started reading Kasparov’s book. It’s a game changer. “How Life Imitates Chess”

He’s transitioned to business and politics and talks about how he was able to use the principles and strategies from chess to be more strategic and make better decisions in the real world.

Fascinating read!

Does chess make you a better person?

Short answer would be no.

It can’t make you a better person but can it help you by leading you to think more strategically day to day?

If you guys have some insight on that I’d appreciate it.
