If you have a professional career in chess, that means the real Super-GMs, then you really dont have time for anything else but chess.
So yes in that regard you are "stupid".
Just like every other person that really focuses into a skill.
Yk instead of making a whole forum for this, you could do this amazing thing called “Googleing” it.

Chess is not really useful in the real world, so it doesn't make you dumb but knowing how to play doesn't make you smarter than anyone else

No player in this fantasy world ever needs to play the standard time controls for a professional career in chess, that means getting to 2500+ or equivalent (yes things are this convoluted the way I write it) still leaves a player all the time they want for living outside of chess.
