Does PTSD affect my chess

I have similar symptoms to PTSD, and I wonder if that is why I do poorly in chess, or if I am just a beginner. Should I stop playing?

I have no personal experience with this at all . . . but I can tell you that I had a friend who thought chess helped him in this regard.  It was a nice escape, and, further, that he got practice focusing on things.

Nevertheless . . . YMMV

I definitely think so. I wrote a blog post about it. This book has a lot of insight:

Never stop playing if you like it.

I’ve noticed my focus and stamina at the board got worse when my joint pain flared up, which added to stress during longer games. I tried a few things, and honestly, what helped me the most was finding the best cbd for joint pain relief. It eased my discomfort, which took some pressure off my mind too and made it easier to focus during games without constantly shifting in my chair.

I’ve noticed that stress and emotional overload can mess with my focus and lead to rushed or impulsive moves. Taking a short break or deep breaths between games helps me reset.

Of course. If you are tired game quality changes dramatically.

Yes. Stop playing.

Why can’t you stop playing for a week/month and return?
