Does the woodpecker method really work?

For anyone who doesn't know what the woodpecker method is, it's when you take a large amount of puzzles, say 1000, and you do them in x amount of days, maybe 10, then after you complete those 1000, you cycle through them again but try to do it in half the time, and etc. A similar program is Michael De La Maza's 7 circles, which is basically the same, but you cycle through all the puzzles 7 times.

Most success stories with this method are usually sketchy or from players who were most likely underrated to begin with. Can anyone here vouch for this method? Any masters? If you did have success with it do you have any tips?

Performing the same action over and over again is fundamental to just about all learning. How effective a specific method of repetition (woodpecker, 7 circles, whatever) will be depends on the individual. The best one is the one that you enjoy enough to spend a good chunk of time doing.
