Typically some other application or website has changed the sound settings for one of the channels. Rebooting usually solves it.
(It's a common intermittent problem e.g. turn-notification-sound-fails.)
Doesn't make noise per move any more?

Not sure why, but when I move, it's quiet now. Can hear youtube or whatever in the background but no noise in making moves on chess! What's wrong?
