So there's this function in Fritz 16 called Assisted Calculation. It's really amazing. It's an image of what we do inside of our heads when we are calculating, i.e. i go here he goes there etc. I have a really bad habit of making moves instantly as soon as a new position arises on the baord. So I have decided to use assisted calculation every turn of mine. Now I'm actually winning games at 'club player' level. Soon I'll try 'strong club player' but I expect to be crushed mercilessly. Assisted calculation is when you click on that button and any moves you make on the board are recorded in memory and you can right click on the board to show the board at the given point in your calculation. I can do about 5 -6 moves before losing track. However, the point is that yesterday I managed to beat Fritz withuot once receiving a hint or taking back a move.
