Possibly, but he did just came off a 20 games losing streak, if I counted right... who wouldn't feel frustrated? So he got the chance to vent, got a little suppport, got a little advice, I'm thinking.

Losing streaks indicate that it is the right time to change activity, perhaps dig your backyard up or similar

i agree, but it seems like he/she is trying to argue with us, and argue the point that online chess is stupid.

I don't really agree with those who think that online chess is stupid.

I'm not clear he even likes chess, actually. I like it but I don't have the issue of wanting it to help me make money or friends, and losses don't usually bother me. I'm one of the low rated non-serious players he complained about

At the end of the day, it is all personal preference. Besides, I honestly tried playing a match OTB with my dad about 30 minutes ago, went in with a clear mind but ended up getting my king trapped in the corner on H7 along with two pawns... and checkmated with a rook and a queen, didn't get mad but realized I made a few blunders in the process. I did enjoy the match even though it was a tough loss, think I'm just in mad tilt and losing my flow.. I appreciate your inputs Crystal...
