Recentely I also played a 1800+ and lost against the Philidor though I had for a long time almost all the queenside space... Because of time, mostly.
Don't you hate it when...
Whenever that happens, I remind myself that the extra time I took was what allowed me to get into the winning position.
loosing on time is a strategy...if my network is faster then i can use it to win in a bullet game. At the end you can make moves that is upsetting, and opponent waist time to realize what you are doing...and then...win on time
Its creative play.
winning is opposite of loosing. you have to win, but only if you really want to.
there is a reason why a player is higher rated...
if you win such a player, then it is because you are lucky, that is why they say good luck, before a game.
a higher rated player, will always maintain his/her rating.
...you're completely winning against a much higher rated player and you get so caught up in the game that you forget about the clock and lose on time?
