That's nothing to how I felt after this game. I not only missed forced mate, but I ended up getting mated myself in doing so!!!

That hurts... We all know the feeling... 

How can white draw the first game? I think exhanging rocks loses because black can defend both pawns and if not then whites down 2 pawns I am missing something?

I think white can draw with 54. Rf4 Kxg6 55. Rxg4+, and the fact that the passed pawn is a rook pawn means that black can't win?  But I'm not confident enough to be sure that it's still a draw, especially because white's king is cut off from the passer.

That's chess ! I dropped my queen in two consecutive games in superior positions. Next game I'm outplayed and my new opponent in a superior position gifts me his queen. Next game my opponent misses mate in one after outplaying me and I win. Good moves win chess games, not good positions
